News and Events Updates

Our Events Team are working hard in the background, organising events that we can all fly into or drive into!

For more information about upcoming Events, please email events@bpandbc.co.uk

...and if you are new to fly-in events or you haven't done 'that kind of flying' before, well now is your opportunity...

...our Events Organiser will be delighted to provide full briefings, and if possible he will help you 'buddy up' with an old hand!

So now there is really no need to miss out on some terrific fun flying!

A note from Mark, Events Leader:

"First of all, many thanks for trusting me with the role of events organiser, I sincerely hope I can keep your diaries full and I look forward to seeing you all throughout the coming year. I have tried to spread the events geographically and to add a little something to each to appeal to flying and non-flying members alike."

Here is our Upcoming Events Calendar for 2019...

Event 1 - WOTY! Weekend Of The Year - Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th July

Time is marching on, and WOTY is fast approaching! Possibly your last chance to visit France as a European citizen (I won't comment on that!)

The event has an ambitious programme spread over four days, but designed so that members could join on Friday (or even Saturday) for a shorter trip. So without further ado, here is the programme:-

Thursday 4th July 1300 Rendezvous at Shoreham (home of the Beagle) for lunch to which Beagle Originals will also be invited. I am hoping to negotiate reduced landing fees! Then fly to Deauville and taxis to Honfleur for overnight stay and evening meal in the stunning medieval harbour.

Friday 5th July Morning in Honfleur then taxis to Deauville and fly to Le Ferte Alais (the French Shuttleworth) just south of Paris. I intend to stop enroute at Amiens as my father was stationed there with 53sqn Bleinhams in WW2, and anyone is welcome to join me. Meal and hotel in Le Ferte Alais.

Saturday 6th July All day at Le Ferte Alais visiting their amazing collection. Meal and second night in Le Ferte Alais.

Sunday 7th July Meander back to Le Touquet for lunch, then disperse home, in my case via Rochester (just because it’s not in my logbook!)

I have made the decision (based on previous years numbers) to let participants book their own accommodation, but PLEASE let me know if you intend to participate in any or all of the trip ASAP as I can then arrange PPR’s, meals, taxis etc.

This will be a great opportunity to get to know other members and enjoy some of the best that northern France has to offer.

I am happy to mentor any less experienced members who have not ventured abroad before, just ask!
